Who I am

I am Liam O'Connor, a Toronto-based journalist who has been covering Canadian online casinos since 2015. I came to iGaming through finance journalism — I was writing about the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke's gaming regulation for a magazine that no longer exists, and the topic kept it is grip on me. The Canadian online casino market is unusual: federal silence, provincial fragmentation, Indigenous-licensed operators, offshore MGA brands, and the Ontario AGCO experiment all sitting on top of each other. Writing about it never gets boring.

How I work
